Coffee Culture : Plunger

Firstly let's start with the old faithful plunger coffee or French press as it is also known.

You will need a medium grind of your favourite kupenda blend; we recommend Josephat, Njenga or Tulia.

  • Place one tablespoon, which is about 15ml of ground coffee, per cup into a clean dry plunger.
  • Using filtered or freshly poured water, boil then allow water to stand for a minute. This is to not scald the coffee which would bring out the bitter flavours.
  • Using a measuring cup pour out enough water to cover the grounds allowing the gas to be released.
  • Continue to pour your desired cup measurements into the pitcher.
  • Give the contents a little stir then place on the plunger lid.
  • Let the coffee brew for 4 to 5 minutess before plunging.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy a fantastic Kupenda coffee.
